Note A. Slavs living in Romania: Bulgarians in Dobrogea, Bulgarians in Banat, Croats, Hutuli, Serbians, Slovaks in Banat, Slovaks in Transylvania, Ukrainians, Russians (Lipoveni)

Note B: Hungarians in Romania (Transylvania, Banat, Moldova.) There are seven groups: 1. Kalotaszeg, 2.Torocko or Aranyos 3. Mezoseg , 4. Maros 5. Szekely (Haromszek or TreiScaune or Covasna, Udvarhelyszek or Odorhei-Ciuc-Harghita, Bukovina) 6. Csango (Bacau-Moldova, Gyimes and Hatfalvus in Brasov) 7. West Plains Region (Szilagyseg, Szatmar, Banat, Bihor or Fekete Korosvolgyiek or Crisu'Negru). Until about 100 years ago, some historic documents also mentioned Csangos in Deva and Alduna or Lower Danube.

Note C: Small ethnic groups or city dwellers were not included: Arnauti (Albanians,) Gabroveni (Bulgarians from Gabrovo) Armenians, Greeks, Czechs (Pems), Jews, Italians, Polish, Spaniards.
